  • DePauw University Computer Science Department maintains a number of OpenSSI clusters running a variety of Intel x86 hardware and an OpenAFS filesystem. Their largest cluster (numerically) to date is a 37-node Pentium II / Pentium III cluster. Their most powerful cluster to date is a 6-node 36GB 12 Xeon (3.6 Ghz) OpenSSI cluster. They are running OpenSSI 1.2.2 on Fedora Core.
  • Zagreb Children's Hospital runs two OpenSSI clusters: a LTSP terminal server cluster, and a database/application cluster. The LTSP cluster is composed of HP ProLiant DL380 G3 nodes, each with two Intel Xeons at 3.06GHz and 4GB of RAM, while the data/app cluster nodes are also ProLiant G3s, but with a single 3.06GHz processor and 2GB of RAM. Both clusters are running OpenSSI 1.2.2 on Debian Sarge.
  • Emory University Libraries' Digital Programs and Systems Division runs a four-node OpenSSI cluster used for metadata and web indexing research, as well as other digital library projects and miscellaneous software development and testing. It runs on four Dell PowerEdge 1750s, each with two Intel Xeon processors at 2.40GHz and 4.0GB of memory. It is running OpenSSI 1.9.1 on Debian Sarge.
  • CalvaEDI S.A.S. uses an OpenSSI cluster for its desktop systems. 10 Dell Optiplex desktops clustered with a Dell Poweredge server. Currently running OpenSSI 1.9.1 on Debian Sid.
  • Warsaw University of Technology - ICCE Currently running OpenSSI 1.2.2 on Debian Sarge. Three nodes, twelve loaded dynamically. Whole cluster runs on the same nodes: P4 HT 3GHz, 512MB DDR RAM.
  • Parolkar Innovation Lab is developing Nirvigna, a toolkit for rendering high-end computer graphics on commodity clusters. The project uses OpenSSI as the base platform for running the Ray-Tracer Engine and software packages developed to help digital artists.
